Dr. Alyssa Lees-Sanders attended the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and graduated in May 2004. Dr. Sanders was awarded the "Natural Medicines Recognition" award, an honor given to a senior student exhibiting excellence in patient care and alternative therapies. She has completed internships for the Oklahoma Department of Medicaid Prior Authorizations Unit, Walgreen’s, Newt Discount Drug in Guthrie, and Lassiter Drug in Del City as well as internships at the University of Oklahoma Schusterman Center.

Dr. Sanders completed her undergraduate work at the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Dr. Sanders was raised in Inola, Oklahoma, where her father owned and operated Inola Drug. She began working at Inola Drug when she could walk and continued until it was sold in 1999. Dr. Sanders has been a member of The Apothecary Shoppe team since its birth in 1995 as a janitor, delivery girl, technician, intern and now a pharmacist.
