Dr. Deril J. Lees, Sr. is the owner and founder of The Apothecary Shoppe. Dr. Lees is a Tulsa native and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, class of 1979 B.S. and PharmD 2003. From 1981-1999, he owned and operated Inola Drug located in Inola, Oklahoma, and continued on to open The Apothecary Shoppe in June of 1995, The Apothecary Shoppe of Broken Arrow in December 2000, and the Getman-Apothecary Shoppe at 19th & Utica in June 2003.
Dr. Lees has served as a consultant pharmacist for nursing homes, hospices as well as participated in the Regional and National Advisory Counsel for Bergen Brunswig’s Good Neighbor Pharmacy Program. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Bank of Inola and the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. In April 1994, Dr. Lees received the Pharmacist of the Month award from the Professional Compounding Centers of America, and in 2000, he was the recipient of the Innovative Pharmacy Practice award from the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association. Dr. Lees currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Oklahoma and has earned over 1,000 hours of continuing education in the area of compounding.
Dr. Lees is married to Robbin, and together, they have three children: Alyssa, Kasey and D.J. Alyssa Lees-Sanders is a pharmacist at The Apothecary Shoppe; Kasey Lees-Jackson is General Counsel and Marketing Director of The Apothecary Shoppe; and Deril Lees Jr. (D.J.) is a pharmacist at The Apothecary Shoppe. Dr. Lees' favorite daughter-in-law, Sarah, also works at The Apothecary Shoppe as the Marketing Coordinator. Dr. Lees' least favorite son-in-law (because he's a lawyer), Jake Jackson, also works at The Apothecary Shoppe as General Counsel and Director of Business Development. Dr. Lees spends any extra time travelling and spending time with his three grandchildren.
