Hi, I’m Kyle Panter. I’m the Vice-President of Innovation with The Apothecary Shoppes.  I want to talk to you a little bit about a frequently asked question I get from women regarding what exactly is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement.

Our bodies naturally produce hormones, and hormones are chemical messengers that help our body perform at its best. As women age, they lose the capability of producing certain hormones namely estrogens, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA. The consequences of that is they start exhibiting signs or symptoms they’ve never had before, like hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping at night, maybe some mood swings, irritability, depression or anxiety, just a bevy of symptoms that suddenly just crop up out of nowhere.

Our specialty is to help you replace those hormones so that you get back to living your normal life, if you will. We don’t like to use synthetic hormones, things that aren’t naturally produced by the body. We’ll actually use the same exact hormones your body would naturally produce on its own.

Now we can do that in several different ways. One way is, we can just make a simple capsule and it would look something kind of like this. There’s an example of what some capsules might look like. You can take these either once a day at bedtime or twice a day depending on how your symptoms behave, if you will.

We can also do it in a topical cream. That’s a very common thing that we do. You would get it in a pump dispenser somewhat like this; whereas basically you’d depress one time to get one dose and apply it on as smooth skin area.

Another way we can replace hormones is through a dosing form called a troches. What that is, is basically it’s a medicated lozenge where we suspend the medication in this dosage form and you park it between your cheek and gum and you let it melt there; takes usually 5 to 10 minutes or so. The hormone is basically delivered into your bloodstream through your gums and your cheeks. That’s a really popular way as well.

Whichever method you prefer, we can certainly meet your need in that regard. If you have any questions about hormone replacement, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement we’d love to talk to you about that. Ask any of our pharmacists or staff if you have any more questions at The Apothecary Shoppe, Tulsa Pharmacy.

Hi I’m Kyle Panter. I’m the Vice-President of Innovation for the Apothecary Shoppes. I want to talk to you about a frequently asked question that I get. Specifically, Kyle how can you help with chronic wounds, and that’s a great question. At the Apothecary Shoppe we developed a process; we call it Six Ways to Heal a Wound. We’re able to customize specific products; topical creams, topical gels, that you can apply directly in the wound or around the wound, to treat either an infection, or to increase blood flow to the area so that the tissues get the proper blood and oxygen to heal correctly.

We can compound a topical cream to help with the pain. Maybe you have some neuropathic or nerve related pain associated with that. We have some topical pain creams to help with that. We also have some nutritional things to offer. A rapid dissolving tablet if you will, that contains your “B” vitamins and vitamin “D3” to help those nerves heal and regenerate. Help the immune system boost it up so that it helps the system heal as well.

If you have for example, issues with diabetic foot ulcers, or any kind of pressure sores, or a burn that just doesn’t want to heal up very well, and you need some more information about our wound care products. Feel free to talk to one of our pharmacists. We’ll be glad to help. Thanks.
